Why This Matters
WRN operates through eight institutional platforms — each serving a distinct function, all connected by a single purpose: Research for Human Flourishing. Together they generate knowledge, build capacity, influence systems, and ensure the organisation is sustainable and accountable.
The platforms are interconnected. The Research Lab generates knowledge that the Academy translates into learning; the Network & Community creates the relationships that the Partnerships Platform formalises; the Policy & Influence Hub takes evidence from the Lab and communicates it through the Communications & Engagement Hub. The Sustainability & Operations Unit ensures all seven can function effectively and with integrity.
Our enablers — Inclusive Participation, Ethics & Integrity, Innovation & Creativity, and Global Solidarity — run through every platform. Our outcomes — Knowledge that matters, Capacity that empowers, Partnerships that transform and Impact that lasts — are produced by all of them working together.
Where We Focus

1. WRN Research Lab
Drives interdisciplinary, participatory and impact-focused research programmes and projects. Focus: Evidence generation, innovation and real-world solutions.
2. WRN Academy
Builds research capacity, leadership and skills through training, mentoring and knowledge exchange. Focus: Learning, development and empowerment.
3. WRN Network & Community
A global network of scholars, practitioners, partners and communities working together for change. Focus: Connection, collaboration and collective action.
4. WRN Policy & Influence Hub
Translates research into policy insights and advocates for equity, inclusion and justice. Focus: Influence, advocacy and systemic change.
5. WRN Partnerships Platform
Builds strategic partnerships with institutions, funders, governments, business and civil society. Focus: Co-creation, resource mobilisation and shared impact.
6. WRN Global Initiatives
Leads six flagship initiatives addressing critical global challenges and advancing human flourishing. Focus: Thematic leadership for global transformation.
7. WRN Communications & Engagement Hub
Shares knowledge, stories and evidence through diverse channels to inspire and engage. Focus: Visibility, storytelling and public engagement.
8. WRN Sustainability & Operations Unit
Ensures effective governance, sustainability, resource management and operational excellence. Focus: Sustainability, accountability and long-term impact.
